Biography

Scoring international TV spots like Tour de France, Specialized bicycles and Transworld Motocross, Harald implements his unique saturated analog sound in all his scores. Using multiple analog synths, Reason, and Record, he also produces / writes for Swedish and American bands like Blenka, Funcshen, Lay Down Your Guns, and more.

Vinyl Sample Enhance (Factory Sound Bank / Scream 4 Patches / Warm Saturation)

I love the Scream Destruction unit! The Vinyl Sample Enhance for making dry digital samples into bold textured samples. This all over Blenka's Funshine EP. It's a tasty analog mid boost that really makes vocals / pianos / or even snares stand out without calling too much attention to the effect.

Mounds of Wires (Factory Sound Bank / Thor Patches / Bass)

As close to analog as it comes. I used Mounds of Wires with the RPG-8 arpeggiator on Funcshen's "Girls and Boomboxes" electro / rock album. This is one of the most impressive digital bass patches i've ever heard!

Tape Sucker (Factory Sound Bank / NNXT Sampler Patches / Strings)

Great for big dramatic scores with lots of layered strings. It has the dustiness of a violin or cello. I have used this along with an orchestral plate verb in a number of Specialized Tour de France commercials for intense buildup, or soft breakdowns

Vintage Loop (Factory Sound Bank / Scream 4 Patches / Drum Processing)

I use this on most Rhodes / Pianos along with a long decaying verb for melodramatic scenes in film. For giving an instrument a sound that adds texture, personality, and saturation, the Vintage Loop is king.

VCS Pizz (Orkester Sound Bank / Strings / Cellos)

These Pizzicato strings can be found in almost all of my Tour de France scores, and in Transworld Motocross's 61X. When you need rhythm and buildup while still leaving room for the voice over, Pizzicato arpeggios are the way to go! By themselves they can add tension and combine with a beat for the finale they can really enhance your cinematic groove!
